Onondaga Community College (OCC) is helping students discover their career passions, exemplified by alumnus Ben Kott, who graduated in 2012. Kott, now the Lead Shift Supervisor at National Grid’s Power Distribution Control Center, recently hosted students at the facility and participated in the STEM Career Showcase to highlight career opportunities in the field.

Kott expressed his appreciation for OCC’s smaller class sizes and engaged faculty, which contributed to his positive educational experience. After attending OCC, Kott transferred to SUNY-ESF and earned a degree in Environmental Science. He pointed out the increasing recognition of community colleges for providing valuable programs and opportunities for students pursuing their career goals.
