Scorching Heat Gives Way to Severe Storms

The National Weather Service in Binghamton, NY reports that today will be hot and humid in Lackawanna County, Pennsylvania. Temperatures are expected to reach the upper 80s to mid 90s, with heat indices in the mid to upper 90s.

A cold front is expected to move in from the northwest to the southeast late this morning through the afternoon. This change in weather will bring scattered showers and storms. Some of these storms could be strong to severe, with isolated damaging wind gusts and heavy rain that may lead to isolated flash flooding issues.
