Cayuga Sheriff Highlights Busy March Community Activities
In March 2025, Cayuga County Sheriff Brian Schenck’s office reported several community activities and departmental statistics.
On March 8, members of the Outdoor Power Equipment, Powersports, and Marine Class at Cayuga-Onondaga BOCES installed new tires on one of the department's ATVs. Deputies Ellinwood and Raftis posed for a picture with class members and instructors to mark the event.
On March 19, Sheriff Schenck and Undersheriff Peenstra visited CAP Community Action Programs Cayuga/Seneca to read to students, spending quality time with the children.

Local classes and online options are available through the state parks website.

ID Officer Brian Kelly presented a $500 check from the Deputy Sheriff’s Benevolent Association to the Auburn Lacrosse Boosters to help pay for equipment and uniforms.
