Staff Report / syracuselocal.org

The ISAS Executive Committee met to discuss upcoming events, including a Halloween party and plans for November, which is designated as Native Heritage Month.

During the meeting, the committee considered several aspects of the Native Heritage Month celebration. They discussed the possibility of hosting a social event, inviting a speaker or sponsor, and options for food and drinks.

Scott Manning Stevens, Associate Professor and Director of Native American Studies at Syracuse University, emphasized the university's unique position in Haudenosaunee territory, highlighting the opportunities for students to engage in dialogue about important cultural issues.
