Scranton Community Embarks on International Journeys

On December 19, 1891, The Cricket reported that several community members were traveling and returning to Scranton. Architect Conrad Schroeder and his daughter Mamie left for Europe, and contractor Cornel Schrotler and Miss Manile Schrotler departed on Monday morning for a trip overseas.

M. S. Kemmerer of Mauch Chunk was noted as a guest in Wyoming House, while Miss Ainey of Allentown visited her sister, Mrs. H. J. Foster, from Mulberry Street. Frank Reman, a well-known organ builder from Binghamton, was in town during the week, and Dr. J. Arthur Bullard from Wilkes-Barre visited the city on Thursday evening.

Additionally, James P. Dickson left for Germany to spend the winter with his family. Mr. and Mrs. E. K. Miller, along with Miss Kern, returned from visiting relatives in Great Bend. Reverend R. A. Doney of East Tunkhannock attended the installation of the new Sabath School. George Owens, known from Street Furniture, was visited by his cousin, Miss Milt, in New York, and Mrs. Clark from Sullivan County spent an afternoon visiting her sister, Mrs. M. A. Donahue, on Arthur Street.

Forthcoming elect Prof. Wod was preparing in his prospective office, familiarizing himself with the machinery, and pianist Miss Annie Williams returned from New York after pursuing musical studies. The report also mentioned that postmistress Miss Sue Pyle from Moscow was recognized among the local community.
