Auburn, Syracuse Residents Arrested in Massive Drug Bust
On July 9, 2025, Auburn Police Department officers, in coordination with several agencies, conducted a series of investigations that resulted in multiple arrests. During a vehicle and traffic stop while taking a parole absconder, officers investigated the scene and located two individuals in possession of illicit controlled substances.
A 45-year-old Auburn resident, Beth L. Geiger, and a 40-year-old Syracuse resident, Antwan L. Smith, were found in a vehicle with 48.5 grams of methamphetamine, 11 grams of crack cocaine, and several glassine envelopes containing fentanyl. Officers also discovered a digital scale, suspected cutting agents, and packaging materials commonly used in street-level narcotics sales.
Geiger and Smith were taken into custody at the scene. They were charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance 3rd degree, classified as B-Felonies, in accordance with New York State Penal Law 220.16.01.
The operation was carried out in cooperation with the Finger Lakes Drug Task Force, New York State Police, Cayuga County 911 Center, Cayuga County Probation, G.I.V.E., and NYS Parole. Additional aspects of the incident included a larceny arrest and actions related to a parole absconder during the coordinated police response.
